At Create Partnership Trust, our first Trust value is Innovation. We live this value at all our schools on a daily basis and know that the children and communities that we serve deserve us to be innovative on their behalf. The communities that our family of schools serve, are facing significant challenges economically and socially and our children face myriad barriers to learning in language acquisition, reading, writing, in their wellbeing and in many other ways. These are ‘Big Questions’ that face communities and children experiencing significant deprivation around the country and at Create, we aspire to answer them on behalf od our children. We are involved with, and initiate, action research projects across a number of ‘Big Questions’ to bring together experts, companies and educators in the pursuit of this idea. At the moment, we have Action Research projects in our schools attempting to answer the following ‘Big Questions’:
- BIG QUESTION 1: “How do we improve language acquisition and cognitive development in the Foundation Years so children arrive at school better prepared?”
- BabyTalk - Our BabyTalk programme, created in conjunction with experts from Oxford University
- BIG QUESTION 2: “How do we improve reading for the bottom 20% of readers?”
- Lexplore x Kira An action research project between Lexplore and askKira combining Iris Tracking and AI
- BIG QUESTION 3: “How do we improve writing stamina in key Stage 2 and beyond?”
- Lyfta x Kira An action research project between Lyfta and KiraMark combining award-winning video and EdTech with AI
- BIG QUESTION 4: “How do we improve children’s wellbeing?”
- Bounce Together x Kira : An action research project between Bounce Together and askKira combining the Stirling Children’s Wellbeing Scale and AI
We are proud to have been nominated for the MAT Excellence Digital Innovation Award 2025 in recognition of our work innovating these projects. If your Trust or schools would like to be involved, or you would like to contribute your expertise, or you have an idea for another project, or have another ‘Big Question’ that needs answering, please contact mark.unwin@create.org.uk
